Plan a Golf Vacation
If you are planning a golf vacation there are
several things you need to consider to make you experience one
to remember. The first thing you should consider
is how long of a trip you want to plan. This is
important so you can decide your other
options.
If you are planning a one or two day golf
trip, you probably don't want to travel to far from home if you
are driving. If you are planning a three
or four day vacation, then your options are greater.
You can drive a bit farther or even fly to your
destination. If you are planning a vacation longer
than four days, there are many other things to
consider. Mainly the cost of your trip and and other
activities you would like do besides playing golf.
After deciding on the length of your trip, you
will want to decide where you are going to go. If you
decide on a day or two trip, you will probably want to stay
within 3-4 hours of home, so you are not spending half of your
vacation driving. I would guess there are excellent
places to stay and play within 3-4 hours of about 90% of the
United States.
A golf getaway of three or four days gives you
more options, you can drive 6-8 hours or possibly a little
more. Just keep in mind that eight hours of driving each
way is going to waste almost an entire day. Trips of
longer than four days let you experience some of the best golf
in the world. Sites of this length also allow you the
opportunity to fly to your destination without spending half of
your trip at the airport. If you decide to fly, you will
want to find the cheapest
airfare possible.
After deciding the length of your trip and
where you are going, you will want to decide where you are
going to play.
